The Loose Women are anything but shy! Whether they’re discussing relationships or parenting, they always come across as confident, articulate and opinionated ladies. That’s part of the reason why the show has been so successful for so many years.
But when it comes to body hang ups we all have them. No matter how confident you can appear, it doesn’t always translate into loving the skin we’re in, whether we fixate on scars, cellulite, our shape, weight, height – we’re always finding something to pick on that we don’t like.
However, the Loose Women have come together to remind us that we need to stop and love our bodies.
Coleen Nolan, Katie Price, Stacey Solomon and Andrea McLean have stripped off to their underwear in a gorgeous black and white shoot to encourage women to embrace their bodies – even the bits they don’t feel confident about.
And the results are stunning!
The image was captured by 80s rocker Bryan Adams, and is part of a #MyBodyMyStory campaign which will come into full effect on Tuesday’s episode of Loose Women.
In the run up, the image has been blown up to bill board size and the women have been talking about their body issues.
“I’m 27 and I have lots of bits and pieces I don’t like about my body - saggy boobs and stretch marks and the thing that really bothers me is my love handles,” Stacey said.
"But what I hope this photoshoot shows women and men is that in most celebrity pictures there has been some form of airbrushing or retouching – so they shouldn’t compare themselves to unrealistic ideals.”
Nadia Sawalha also spoke about battling her body demons, saying: “I have wasted more time than I can to think of over my body issues. I’ve always hated being naked.
"I felt quite panic stricken at the thought of getting my body out in front of myself never mind a rock god!
"Stepping into the studio in my bra and pants was beyond cringe. There I was stretch marks, cellulite and all the battle scars of life for all to see with the knowledge that there would be zero airbrushing.
"And to be honest that's why I wanted to do the shoot. I wanted to practice what I preach to my daughters. What the hell does it matter what we look like as long as we are smart, brave and kind?”
The positive message comes hot on the heels of a cellulite debate following pictures of Kim Kardashian – who is famous for her bountiful bottom – on the beach with an unretouched behind.
We think this is a wonderfully inspiring way to tackle how we think of our bodies and can’t wait to see what the Loose Women get up to this week.
