Liam Payne slams motormouth Louis after THAT comment

One Direction member Liam Payne has hit back hard at Louis Walsh on Twitter after he insulted his girlfriend Cheryl.

Liam and Cheryl have been dating since earlier this year - it was only recently that Liam made a huge public gesture to Cheryl - and now he has defended the lady of his life on Twitter.

During an interview with the Huffington Post, when the X Factor judge Louis Walsh was asked how he'd feel if Simon Cowell brought Cheryl back to the judging panel in the next series he said: "Well Simon wouldn't invite Cheryl back because we have Nicole.

"We have Nicole [Scherzinger] and Sharon [Osbourne], we don't need another girl. So go and f—k off now!

"No silly questions, seriously… It's not about Cheryl. Don't be stupid, man."

Eek!

And Liam didn't take the comment - aimed at his girlfriend - lightly; in fact he took to Twitter to reveal his dismay: "Congratulations Louis Walsh for setting the worst example on handling media for his band who are about to step into a very hard industry."

"Maybe it's about time you realise it's not all about you and shut the f—k up for once, let them speak."

Cheryl replied to Liam's tweet with a simple: "Oh.."

This isn't the first time Louis has publically been rude about Cheryl. On This Morning when asked whether he was a fan of Cheryl's judging he commented: "Oh, she was fine. She was really good.

"I just prefer Nicole. Her work ethic. She'll want three people in the final this year.

"She just works and she gets it. She's on it. She sings, she dances. She really mentors, over and above."

We wonder if Cheryl and Louis will ever be best friends?
