RHOC's OG Leanne Brown has been praised by fans for a candid Instagram post showing the bloody and calcified breast implants she was forced to have removed last year.
The shocking images (look away if you're squeamish) shows the silicone implants after they had been removed, marked left and right, resting on a piece of surgical cloth.
It was Breast Implant Illness Awareness Day on February 13th and the reality star rightly chose the day to share her deeply personal story with her 262k followers explaining how she believed the implants were the cause of her two year illness.

She began, "On the 13th November 2019, I had my breast implants removed – I believe I had some of the symptoms linked to breast implant illness.
"Since speaking openly about BII I have spoken to so many women with similar concerns of illnesses associated with implants."
"Until the end of 2018 I was completely unaware that implants can make you sick! I had mine inside me for 16 years and over the last two I knew they didn’t feel right! I think I had got used to feeling rubbish and aching constantly and just put it down to lifestyle and age, my implants had capsulated and were becoming increasingly uncomfortable and painful... "
Breast Implant Illness, or BII has been recognised by the NHSas a condition that affects some women with implants.
Symptoms associated with the illness are, fatigue, chest pain, hair loss, headaches, anxiety, brain fog, depression, chronic pain, body odour, photosensitivity, and headaches.
However, there is currently a lack of good evidence that suggest breast implants are the cause of the reported symptoms with many women being forced to self identify.
According to the British Association of Plastic Surgeons, removal of implants relieves the aforementioned symptoms in 50% of cases.
The problem being the symptoms are so general, they could be linked with any other number of medical problems.
Leanne alluded to this when she said, "Thankfully, I was not as poorly as some women are [and] repeatedly being ignored by the surgeons and medical professionals when insisting that something isn’t right and can not be explained."
Having the implants removed was a no-brainer for the star, "...I was worried about the way they would look after [removal] and how it would affect me mentally but after knowing the risks fully now and understanding the harmful effects they could cause I knew I was making the right decision."

She added, "...I just wish I had been properly informed before hand., I think we all do, on removing them and discovering that one had calcified and the other had a gel bleed I was relieved to get rid of them for good!"
Calcification occurs when calcium deposits form scar tissue around the implant and may cause pain and stiffness.
Leanne concluded, "If anyone is worried about BII please go to the UK Breast Implant Illness Facebook page or message me on here, happy to help if I can give advice I will! #togetherwestand #breastimplantillness #awareness @aberrantperspectives."
After one of her followers were confused about the difference between her two breast implant pictures the reality star gave clarity and explained, "When you have implants your body forms a capsule around the implant our body’s way of protecting us from the foreign object inside of us it’s important to try remove this intact as if there is a ruptured implant inside it can keep it from spilling into the body!
"Some are thicker than others mine were super thick as u can see which is why they were so hard too! X"
