Lauryn Goodman has blasted Kyle Walker for letting down their son, Closer can exclusively reveal. After missing the first match, Lauryn, 33, attended England’s second group game with Denmark last week and took Kairo, four, along to watch his dad play.
Lauryn and Kairo, along with her eleven-month-old daughter with Kyle – known only as KW – had watched the 34-year-old defender play England’s first Euro 2024 match against Serbia from their Sussex home. Showing her support, she also dressed her kids in the full England kit with the name “Daddy” across the back and their dad’s number 2 shirt.
But she vowed to make sure that would be the only game they didn’t watch in person.
“Kyle had promised Kairo during a FaceTime call that he could watch him at the Euros when he was playing for England at the World Cup in Qatar. He felt guilty that Kairo wasn’t there and so brought him back a World Cup football,” a source tells Closer.
“Since that day, Kairo has been excited to watch his daddy play and doesn’t understand that he hasn’t seen him for a few months. He just thinks he’s away training like normal.”
Kyle is married to model Annie Kilner and the pair share Roman, 11, Riaan, seven, Reign, five, and Rezon, two months, together.
Annie, 32, has reportedly told her husband not to see or speak to Lauryn and the children he shares with her. But Instagram model Lauryn, who has known the footballer since their early 20s, is determined to not let her children be affected by the adults’ fall-out over alleged affairs and discrepancies.
Lauryn fell pregnant with her son when she embarked on a romance with Kyle while the footballer was on a break from Annie back in 2019. However, they reunited and married in 2022. Just a year later Kyle reportedly got back in touch with Lauryn and she fell pregnant with their daughter.
When the news broke,a pregnant Annie split from Kyle, but the two are thought to now be trying to make their marriage work, with her currently flying in and out of Germany with their kids to watch him play in the Euros.
Lauryn – who’s said to be in talks for an appearance on Celebs Go Dating – vowed that Kairo would see his dad on the Euros pitch too, however. And she may also have had cameras following her after having reportedly signed up for a docuseries about life as a WAG.
“Lauryn still took Kairo, she’s refusing for him to be let down from the promise Kyle gave their son. They are set to fly out for more games too,” the insider says.
“Kairo is so excited and he is sharing the special moment with his great grandad who will also be there. They share their love of football together. It’s not fair Kairo is punished for his father being unable to step up to the plate for all of his children even though he promised to do this.”
Lauryn has also been supported by fans on Instagram. “Your little boy deserves to go and watch his dad do his job”, one fan posted online. Another remarked, “You got us supporters cheering you on from the sidelines. Your babies will grow up and see you done everything you could to be the best mother while fighting for them to have their father in their lives”.
It comes after she took aim at Kyle in a scathing Instagram post as she revealed that Kairo had been asking her, “Where is my daddy?” She told fans, “I simply say, ‘Daddy’s at football working and remember he’s had to go back to school to learn how to be a good daddy’. I then say, ‘He might learn one day, but for now that’s where he is’.”
Although Annie and Kyle are said to be working through their marriage, it has been reported that it’s at an “all-time low”, with the couple “barely speaking”. After he took Annie on a reconciliation holiday to a caravan park, it has been reported he was kicked out of the marital home once again in Prestbury, Cheshire, when they got back. He is now living in a £20,000-a-month rental house nearby.
“Things have got really bad between Annie and Kyle, and she is only going to the Euros for the sake of the children,” the source says. “If there weren’t kids involved, she wouldn’t be going at all. She’s told him how she feels and isn’t prepared to be in Germany playing happy families with him.”
It’s also been reported that Annie doesn’t want Lauryn to have one up on her and is livid that she’s been in Germany.
“Her marriage to Kyle might not be in a good state, but Annie’s determined to stand her ground and ensure that Lauryn does not get all the publicity during the Euros,” our source adds. “If she [Lauryn] is going to be there, then so is Annie.”
