Lauren Goodger was branded an 'attention seeker' when she asked followers on how to protect herself this week - but now it's been revealed that she's the victim of a stalker.

The reality TV star is said to be terrified for her safety and is unable to sleep at night for fears of what might happen.

A source told The Sun, “It is really worrying her now.

“The stalker has been knocking at her door during all hours of the night and now she can’t sleep.

“Lauren lives completely on her own and in a normal home with limited security – she’s terrified of what might happen in the future."

Lauren's ex-boyfriend Joey Morrison is serving time in jail, but she's adamant that he has nothing to do with it.

“She has reassured friends that Joey has nothing to do with this – and she’s determined to get to the bottom of it," the source continues.

Lauren took to Twitter on Tuesday to vent her concerns, writing, What protection am i aloud on me ? Like an weapon thats legal? If im having agg".

She was met by trolls accusing her of seeking attention by posting the tweet, to which she replied, "Oi some your tweets cracking me up ... but its not a joke".

Earlier that day, Mark Wright's ex also attempted to warn off the stalker by tweeting, "Some strange stuff happening and i dont really know what to do about it .. right now im jusy trying deal with it .. but your messing with the wrong girl..believe....."

Despite her ordeal, the former TOWIE star is keeping in high spirits as she posted a snap on Instagram that saw her enjoying herself with friends.

We hope you're OK, Lauren!
