Lauren Goodger has decided to ditch her celebrity status after being kicked out of Sir Alan Sugar's Sheesh restaurant

Reality star Lauren Goodger has made a shock decision to step out of the celebrity spotlight after being kicked out of a restaurant.

The 30-year-old, who found fame on reality show The Only Way Is Essex, claimed that her ex-fiancé Mark Wright had had her thrown out of the Sir Alan Sugar-owned Sheesh restaurant in Chigwell just over a week ago.

In a series of tweets which have now been deleted, Lauren, who was a legal secretary before appearing on TOWIE, claimed that she was chucked out of the restaurant by bouncers because Mark was about to arrive there.

Fans jumped to her defence, encouraging her to take it further.

However, Sheesh restaurant themselves have addressed Lauren's claims, releasing a statement which explained that it was her own fault that she was asked to leave.

It said: "So @laurengoodger still going on, she was asked to leave last Wednesday because never had a booking, she walked in to the restaurant sat on some someone's table who she didn't know so she could talk to her two friends on the table opposite, we do not accept this behaviour at Sheesh.

"@markwright has never asked me to remove Lauren (ridiculous statement). I have strict rules at Sheesh that the management MUST follow; diners only, smart shoes only. It doesn't matter who you are."

Rochelle Wood, PR and Entertainment Manager at Sheesh, then posted a cryptic tweet suggesting that Lauren had called paparazzi herself before heading into the restaurant.

She wrote: "Organising paps before she heads in restaurant... Everyone knows it's diners only here. Obviously tried to cause a stir."

The Twitter page for Sheesh then retweeted it, adding: "True statement... We never allow paps in our Gated Car Park."

Awks.

But not as awks as the fact that Lauren has now decided to hang up her celeb status following the public spat.

Writing alongside a photo of a selfie, Lauren put: "I've been thinking I want to make a career change. The future belongs to those that believe in the beauty of their dreams. I'm ready to live mine. Fresh start in things that can hold my passion."

She then followed it up with a statement to The Sun Online, saying that being famous is "really hard work".

She said: "The reason I've not done any work in the public eye recently and why I don't go to any events anymore is because I'm losing the passion for it."

Lauren went on to say that she "hides away" because she "doesn't feel confident enough", adding: "Things like this can happen and it's not right.

"This was the icing on the cake. Now I'm just moving on and I want to better myself."

We wonder what Lauren will decide to do with her career next?!
