Lacey Turner has opened up about her baby boy and revealed the reason she decided to not breastfeed him.

The EastEnders star, who is already a mum to Dusty, 18 months, gave birth to her second child prematurely in February.

Lacey opened up about her son Trilby and admitted that after he was rushed to a specialist unit her main priority was focusing on him being fed.

“I was 50/50 about doing it. I found it really difficult last time and Dusty found it stressful but I kept an open mind,” she explained.

“But then when he had to be in special care, I thought, 'Instead of trying my hardest to pump and get everything going, let’s just keep it as easy as possible for everybody and keep him fed.'

"He has his last feed at 11pm and then he wakes up around 3am, and then he’s not up again until 7am!"

The 33 year old admitted that her son spending two days in the special care unit wasn’t easy.

Despite Kat and Phil continuing to flirt up a storm, she's reluctant to go public with their fling.

“I didn’t see him for nearly the whole of the first day as I couldn’t go to the special care unit.

"You feel like you should give birth and your baby goes on your chest and stays there, but that wasn’t the situation, which is sad.

“He was put on my chest and then Matt’s, and then he was whisked off to special care, but at least we got that skin-on-skin,” she told Sunday Mirror’s Notebook.

And although baby Trilby went down to 5lb 8oz, Lacey has revealed that, “he’s well over his birth weight now and he’s a good eater”.

Last year Lacey opened up about her pregnancy and described it as a “miracle”.

Lacey and her husband Matthew Kay suffered two miscarriages before the birth of their daughter Dusty in 2019.

Opening up about baby number two, Matt told OK! magazine, “We didn’t know if it was going to take years again so it was an amazing surprise. When Lacey told me, I was so happy.

“Having Dusty was the best thing that ever happened to us, so to have another baby is only going to be amazing."

Lacey is currently on maternity leave and her EastEnders character Stacey Slater has left the Square as she await her fate on whether she’s going to prison for pushing Ruby Allen down the stairs.
