There has been a lot of drama going on around Weatherfield's infamous cobbles lately.
And now, with the dramatic storyline unfolding between Steve Mcdonald and Michelle Connor, the actors have spoken about how they feel about the latest plot developments.
Viewers of the soap will know that Steve recently found out that he was the father of Leanne Battersby's unborn baby just before his wife, Michelle, revealed that she wanted to start a family with him.
However, with Steve in a mess about what he should do, Michelle announced that she was in fact pregnant too, meaning the Rovers' lothario will be expecting two babies at around the same time.
Talking to OK! Magazine, Kym Marsh who plays Michelle said: "We hoped it wouldn't happen as we already have young kids at home!"
Both actors have young children of their own. Simon Gregson, who plays Steve, has three children – Alfie, nine, Harry, seven and Henry, eight months with his wife, Emma. Kym has three children – David, 21, Emilie, 18 and Polly, five.
The on-screen landlord Simon confessed that although he was also nervous about the dramatic storyline, as long as the baby was relaxed on set there wouldn’t be any problems. He is more concerned about the prospect of splitting up with his on-screen wife.
"We'll be sad if it splits them up because Kym and I have a laugh working together," he admitted.
Coronation Street fans can expect to see some great storylines ahead for the family, as Leanne attempts to leave Weatherfield in order to get away from the difficult situation. But will a last minute plea from Nick Tilsley change her mind?
