Festival goers and celebs – including Tess Daly, Vick Hope, and Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt – headed down to The Big Feastival to party at Blur star Alex James' farm in the Cotswolds recently.
And Closer caught up with Kimberly – who poured cold water on rumours there was a feud brewing with fellow Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger.
Nicole, 44, is currently being accused by Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin of threatening to walk away from the group’s reunion plans unless she was granted a majority share and “complete creative control” and “final decision-making authority” – something Nicole has denied.
Kimberly hits back, “There’s no feud with Nicole – I’m friends with all the girls and I hold everyone in a wonderful space. I think women supporting women is so incredibly important. I really thought we were going to stand for that.”
And although this lawsuit has shelved any plans the Dolls - who performed together on The X Factor in 2019 after disbanding originally in 2010 after seven years together - Kimberly, 40, says the girls are staying strong together.
She adds, “We’re desperate to reunite. It took me two and a half years to get us over the line for the X Factor reunion performance. I had a surprise baby so I was actually on stage performing seven weeks after my last c section! I always stay optimistic but at this stage, there’s so many things going on. It’s completely on of my hands and out of my control.”
Closer also bumped into TV presenter Vick Hope – who was still beaming after getting engaged to DJ Calvin Harris. She read a Cbeebies Bedtime Story in the children’s festival tent and later joked that she was keeping the JoJo & Gran Gran book to read to Calvin.
And while the celebs showcased their ultimate festival looks, we got our wardrobe from SilkFred.com and trialled two jumpsuits and a shirt dress. They were perfect outfits to have casual chic during the day and then take into the night time party vibe. We love the animal prints on their site!
And while many of the festival goers were glamping with their families, Closer got a good night’s sleep at Cotswolds Hideaway’s three-storey property The Gap – perfectly situated around 15 minutes from the festival. The cute cottage had views of the rolling Cotswold hills from the garden and was beautifully decorated inside.
The festival – which saw Sugababes, Stereophonics and Gabrielle hit the stage - was family orientated, kitted out soft play areas, several babies’ changing stations and Organix food stands for snacks, our cottage came complete with stair gates, a travel cot and a high chair...providing the perfect retreat at the end of the day.
There was even a BBQ for a fab summer’s evening. We found a double buggy essential for getting around – especially during the busy festival where there were walks to get between the main stage, children’s play area and food stalls.
We took the Oh LaLa Twin Stroller from Chicco which is suitable from birth and weighs just 9kgs so we could easily manage it over the field terrain. It also had lots of space under the pram so we could take all our supplies for the day without having to go back to the car.
Bonus!
The surrounding area where we stayed around Blockley, a quintessentially English golden stone village, was also perfect for family walks with sweet cafes and two pubs, if you wanted time out from the festival. We’d definitely recommend heading to a festival as a family – give it a try!
