The mum-to-be yesterday joined the party at the Library – a private members club in central London – alongside Rochelle and Marvin Humes and today wrote in her magazine column how she thought no one deserved the happiness more than her former band mate.
She added: “They called me from the island and I was so happy to hear the news. Nobody deserves happiness more than her.”
Kimberley’s not the first to have defended Cheryl’s whirlwind wedding, as last week, fellow Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts wrote on her Instagram:
“You can be in a relationship for two years and feel nothing; you can be in a relationship for two months and feel everything.
“Time is not a measure of quality; of infatuation, or of love.”
Last week, Cheryl, 31, revealed that despite being head over heels in love, she was unsure whether she was ready to take things to the next step and start a family.
“I went through a real phase just recently, of like: maybe it’s not for me. Because you just assume it’s a natural part of your life. I’ve got one friend who doesn’t want them; out of all me friends, only one,” she told the Telegraph.
“But I know she doesn’t want them and I know she’ll never have them. And so I started questioning. I’ve got 11 nieces and nephews. If it happens, don’t get us wrong, it happens. But who knows? We’ll see. It’s not in me plans.”
