According to the Daily Mail, the mum-of-five notified the court ahead of time that she was unable to attend, she reportedly wrote in a letter: "I have been booked for a paid appearance in Scotland for which members of the public have already paid."

Gareth Jones, prosecuting, told the court: "It is an imprisonable offence. She didn't provide any evidence of the engagement.

"But, as she is a media personality, there probably is some truth in it. If she doesn't attend on the new date, we will seek to prove in absence and seek a warrant."

It's reported that the case has been adjourned until March 6 and the reality star will be sent a letter explaining if she fails to attend again she could be convicted.

Closer Online has contacted Kerry's reps for comment.

In other Kerry Katona news, the 38-year-old star recently opened up to Closer magazine and admitted it’s been a long journey but she's managed to get her friendship back on track with her ex-husband Brian McFadden.

"Brian and I are on good terms and it's taken us a hell of a long time to get to where we are. When you split up with someone, there’s a massive change of character on both sides.

"There’s a lot of hatred, revenge and you see things in the other that you’ve never seen.

"I blamed Brian for so many years for so many things and for my downfall. I blamed him for my decision to marry my second husband Mark, I told him it was entirely his fault," she explained.

However following Kerry's split from ex-con George in August 2017, she embraced a more positive mindset and slowly transformed her life by shedding 2st through regular exercise and healthy eating.
