'I don't need a dude. It's 2014!' Katy told Rolling Stone magazine. 'We are living in the future; we don't need anything. I don't think I'll have to [try other means] but we'll see.'

The star added: 'I'm not anti-men. I love men. But there is an option if someone doesn't present himself.'

And although the Roar singer seemed open to the idea of having children, she admitted that time is 'not in the next two years' as she is currently busy touring.

After her split with Mayer, Katy has been linked to DJ Diplo, although it is unclear if the pair are still seeing one another.

Katy was also linked to her long-time friend Robert Pattinson, after he split from Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart.

Both parties have always denied rumours of romance, with Katy saying they are 'buds' and nothing more.
