Katie Price spoke openly on her latest appearance on Loose Women, revealing she’s had “a couple” of abortions in the past.
Speaking to fellow panellists Coleen Nolan, Kay Adams and Nadia Sawahla, Katie also admitted that she considered aborting her now 13 year old son Harvey.
Back in March, Katie appeared on the ITV chat show and confessed that, had she known about Harvey’s disabilities during pregnancy, she would have had an abortion.
Harvey suffers from multiple disabilities including blindness, Prader-Willi syndrome and ADHA, as well as being on the autistic spectrum.
Katie openly admitted: “As harsh as it sounds, if I had known he was going to be born blind, I probably would have aborted him.”
The mum-of-five was just 23 when she fell pregnant with Harvey with her former partner Dwight York, however faced the prospect of becoming a single mum as her relationship with Dwight broke down.
However, after having Harvey Katie revealed on the show in March that she would “adopt a child with disabilities” and if she were to become pregnant again and was aware of any disabilities the child would have she would still “keep it”.
But after the show, Katie took to Twitter to respond to criticism about what she had just been openly discussing, saying: “I’m really upset people have taken out of contest what I said on [Loose Women] today. Harvey is my life and I am so proud of him! [sic].”
And yet again, Katie has come under criticism on her most recent appearance, as the subject of terminating a pregnancy was part of the ladies’ discussion topics.
Katie revealed: "I've had a couple [of abortions].
“It's because I'm so bloody fertile as you can tell," she then joked.
She then discussed how she “went three times” to abort Harvey, but eventually decided against it. She said:
"Even with Harvey I went three times to abort him. I didn't go through with it.
“I thought, 'I can't do it.' In the end, I thought, I'm young, I'm earning money, I wasn't with the guy and I thought I would take the risk and do it.
“I carried on having Harvey and that was brilliant and I'm glad I did."
Speaking about when she believes it’s too late to have an abortion, Katie said:
“Is there a wrong or a right? For me, I think if you're six to eight weeks, okay, but anything more than that I actually disagree with.
“From 16 weeks to 20 weeks you can feel the baby kick," she added.
The 37 year old then received a lot of online disapproval from viewers who didn’t agree with what the mum had to say.
However, there were some that praised Katie for her honesty.
Katie is also mum to Junior, 10, Princess, eight, with ex-husband Peter Andre and Jett, two and Bunny, 20 months, with current husband Kieran Hayler.
