Speaking of her traumatic experience, Katie revealed:

‘The baby’s heart rate was also really low. The next thing I know, a nurse is in my room saying: “Get ready now. You have five minutes to shower. You are having C-section soon”.’

The then pregnant mother-of-three described how she hysterically texted Kieran, 25, who was out shopping.

‘I was in a state. He’s never seen me like that before. He must have thought his wife had turned into a lunatic,’ she admitted.

‘When we got to the theatre door a nurse pointed at Kieran and said, "You, no!" They wouldn’t allow him in.

‘I lay on the operating table thinking, “Is this for real? I’m having a baby in a minute and I’m crying my eyes out with my husband nowhere near me”.’

Katie also had Junior, 8, and 6-year-old Princess by caesarean, but found this experience unsettlingly different.

‘This doctor only gave me the epidural [not the anaesthetic]. I could tell the doctor was close to making the first incision but I wasn’t numb yet,’ she explained.

‘But the first incision was made and I could feel the pressure of it. Bringing life into the world is supposed to be magical. But what I went through was a nightmare.

‘I kept thinking I must be dreaming. The doctor just said, “You will have your baby in two minutes.” And the next thing I knew I had.’

Jett was whipped away to an incubator soon after birth, and Katie- also known as Jordan, described her upset and fear at her postnatal depression returning.

Kieran shared his excitement on Twitter over the weekend

‘The only thing that had got me through the nightmare was the thought of cradling my little boy. But he was only put near my face for seconds. I was really upset. I felt like punching someone.

‘An hour and a half after the delivery, I still hadn’t seen Jett so I just yelled, “Please can someone take me to my baby!” A nurse came and said, “Tomorrow.” By now I was panicking because I’ve suffered postnatal depression in the past and was worried about the stress triggering it again.’

Finally the Katie was reunited with her husband and Jett Riviera- a name which signifies his unusual birthplace.

‘Jett is really strong, he’s doing really well’, Katie proudly revealed over the weekend.

‘I absolutely love him. Kieran is already proving to be an amazing dad. He is so hands on.’
