Katie Hopkins refers to climate change as ‘clap trap’

Katie Hopkins has angered campaigners against climate change by referring to the issue as ‘clap trap’.

The star was writing about Hollywood A-listers and their charity work in her weekly newspaper comment.

Katie singled out the liked of Emma Watson, Victoria Beckham and Leonardo DiCaprio for their work with the UN on women’s issues and climate change.

She wrote:’Listen luvvies, stick to what you are good at- namely being good looking and pretending to be other people.

“I’ll make you a deal. We’ll keep coming to see your movies if you leave the rest of us to make up our own minds on important matters such as climate change clap trap.”

Katie’s comment on climate change came after actor Leonardo DiCaprio told the UN climate change meeting in New York that the issue was not ‘a fiction’.

He said that there was ''evidence that accelerated climate change is here, right now''.

The majority of scientists agree that climate change is an existing problem that threatens the planet and the future of mankind. Many scientists also agree that humans have helped accelerate climate change by burning fossil fuels and destroying massive areas of rainforest.
