Kate Wright proves she’s nailing her new role as step-mum

Former TOWIE star Kate Wright has proved she's the ultimate step-mum with an adorable Instagram post on Valentine's Day.

Kate and her retired boyfriend Rio Ferdinand have been together since early 2017 and although they kept their relationship private at first, they've since gone Instagram official.

Back in 2015, Rio was left devastated after the mother of his his three children, Rebecca Ellison, passed away from breast cancer. Since then he has continued to raise his children alone and last year it came to light that he is now dating reality star Kate Wright.

It's clear that things between the happy couple are serious, last year the reality star quit TOWIE to focus on being a step-mum to Rio's children and Rio went out and celebrate's his O/H's mums birthday.

Even though they've previously posted adorable family photos it seems that Kate has outdone herself this Valentine's Day after she bought Lorenz, 11,Tate, nine and Tia, six, presents.

On Instagram, she posted a photo of their gifts which consist of a balloon, a gift bag and a present and wrote: "HAPPY VALENTINES to the 3 poochies ❤️❤️❤️❤️ "

Fans have praised the 26-year-old star, with one person writing: "It's so lovely you are making these memories for the kids xxx"

Someone else said: "This is literally the cutest thing. Their mum must be looking down so grateful that rio and them kids found u! I know i would be if i were Rebecca. Hope they loved their pressies 💗💙💙 xx"

Another commented: "This post made my heart melt it can’t be easy being a step-mum esp in tragic circumstances. But it looks like you’re doing an amazing job & those children are very blessed to have you in their lives ❤️ "

A fourth wrote: "How lovely @xkatiewright ur a perfect step mom such a hard thing to take on someone else’s children but ur doing the best job 😊 @rioferdy5 u defo have a keeper 😀"

One more added: "What a beautiful step mum you are to bring so much love back into there lives xx"

Rio recently appeared on This Morning and spoke about his relationship with Kate for the first time and admitted he got his children's approval about the relationship. He explained: "They have to be part of that conversation. There has not been one stage of going into this relationship where they've not been involved.

"Even in terms of introducing – how they want it to be done. As long as they feel they're involved and in the conversation, I think there's a chance they can reach happiness."

He added: "I'm really happy now, the kids are really happy, it's the happiest they've been. I'm in a relationship and it's going well.

"My kids deserve to be happy, they've had tragedy for the last few years of their lives."
