Former TOWIE star Kate Wright has been dating Rio Ferdinand since January this year but so far the pair have been reluctant to talk about their relationship.

But now the Essex beauty, 26, has opened up to The Sun's Bizarre column after both she and Rio, 38, went public with their romance in recent weeks.

And it looks like things are getting serious with Kate stepping back from her television commitments to focus on time with the ex-footballer.

She said: “I’m taking a step back from the public eye, I want to keep my life private as I lived my previous relationship on Towie, my priority right now is Rio and the family.”

And it's not just the ITVBe show she's pulling away from. Kate will also no longer be represented by an agent and is distancing herself from lucrative deals with brands.

A source told The Sun: “Kate left TOWIE because she wanted to be away from the limelight.

“But interest continued to be sky high and she struggled to visit the gym and go on holiday in peace.

“She hopes having no links with brands and no longer being on TV will help give her the quiet life she longs for with her new family.”

Being a step-parent can be hard but it seems Kate has been welcomed into Rio's family and has already been on holiday with his children and sisters.

Rio has three children (Lorenz, 11 and Tate, nine, and daughter Tia, six) from his marriage to wife Rebecca who died tragically from cancer in 2015 aged just 34 and his relationship with Kate is his first since Rebecca's death.

We wish Kate and Rio all the best!
