We’ve seen a whole new Kate Moss this past year, after she quit alcohol for a healthier, shinier lifestyle.
But last week, we saw a glimpse of the old Kate via her 16-year-old daughter, who looked the mirror image of her formerly-wild supermodel mum at designer Marc Jacobs’ star-studded wedding.
And now insiders tell heat the reformed Kate is worried Lila could follow in her party-loving footsteps
“Kate’s said she couldn’t bear to see Lila become a crazed party girl like she was,” says an insider close to the 45-year-old star, who has previously said she is “really strict” with Lila Grace, her child with ex-partner Jefferson Hack.
“Every day, Kate tells Lila some story about how she would have been so much happier in her twenties and thirties if she’d been sober. She doesn’t tell Lila not to do drugs or drink alcohol, because she thinks that kind of pressure always backfires. Instead, she explains how bad things were for her while she was partying – the misery she suffered, and the financial losses.”

Kate’s long career has been marred by various damaging headlines. In 2005 – while dating troubled musician Pete Doherty – she was fired from multiple campaigns, thanks to allegations of cocaine abuse, with police later dropping charges.
She reportedly acquired the nickname, “The Tank”, thanks to her drinking abilities and in 2015, an allegedly inebriated Kate was escorted off a flight by police after calling the pilot a “basic bitch”.
But last September it was revealed that she’d been teetotal for a year, and now friends say she’s keen for Lila to avoid the old lifestyle she led.

A source said, “Kate knows that Lila needs to do her own thing, but she really hopes her own mistakes will help Lila make the right choices. But she doesn’t want to preach – that would be hypocritical. She hopes Lila will understand that there’s nothing cool about boozing excessively and that it nearly ruined her mum’s life.”
Lila – who wore a Kate-style dress to the New York wedding of designer Marc Jacobs – has previously been dismissive of her mum’s ways.
Friends reportedly called her “Saffy”, a reference to the straitlaced daughter of party animal Eddy from Absolutely Fabulous. In an interview, Lila called Kate “embarrassing and annoying,” while her journalist dad said in 2016, “She thinks me and her mum are deeply uncool.” And – thankfully – sources say the teen is “definitely listening” to her mum.
