Joe Swash was crowned King Of The Jungle in 2008, before hosting the spin-off show from 2009-2018, so it’s no surprise that the actor and TV personality is tuning in to this series of I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

Speaking at Tombola’s Critter Challenge event, Joe Swash, 41, says, “I try to make time for it in between Cocomelon and Downton Abbey. Stacey [Solomon, Joe’s wife of a year] is currently working her way through the boxset of that and there are just so many episodes!”

This series we’ve seen tensions rise in the jungle, with clashes between Nella Rose, 26, and Fred Sirieix, 51 – when the YouTuber was hurt by the professional chef’s comment that he could be her dad, just days after she had opened up about the loss of her father. Nella and Nigel Farage, 59, have also butted heads over their political differences.

For Joe Swash, however, the drama is what makes the series. He admits, “It’s always so much better when there are tensions in the jungle – no one wants to see everyone being best friends.”

Joe Swash not only won the eighth series, but he also went to South Africa for the All Stars spin-off earlier this year. Now he tells Closer about how the show – which led to him meeting Stacey Solomon – is so important to him.

He explains, “My experiences on I’m A Celeb! have always been so positive. The show means so much to me because I won it, then I spent 11 years doing the spin-off show, I met Stacey through the show and then got my family from it. I’m almost sad that I won’t ever be able to do it again.”
