During JB Gill’s six years in boy band JLS he sold over 10m records, won two BRIT Awards and amassed a £24m fortune but he tells Closer hearing that the Queen was a fan trumps it all.
After coming second on the X Factor in 2008 along with band mates Marvin Humes, Aston Merrygold and Oritse Williams, JB – real name Jonathan Benjamin, – enjoyed success after success highlighted when they performed at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert in 2012.

Reliving the iconic moment JB says: “Meeting the Queen was amazing, she told me that she watches JLS on the TV while she eats her dinner. We didn’t believe her - we thought someone had told her what to say to us - but she named our songs! We were blown away.”
Another of JLS’s high profile fans is Cheryl Cole – now Mrs Fernandez-Versini - who witnessed the band shoot to stardom on the X Factor and watched their final gig in December.
