Jeremy Mcconnell has finally spoken out since Stephanie Davis gave birth to Caben-Albi George Davis and has revealed he thinks he is the biological father of the baby.
Steph and Jeremy have had volatile relationship since they started seeing each other in the Celebrity Big Brother house last year. The former Hollyoaks actress cheated on her boyfriend Sam Reece with Jez, the CBB housemates then started dating outside the house but Jeremy was hit with a bunch of cheating rumours, the pair broke up and got back together (a few times) and then Steph announced she was pregnant.
She announced the shocking news on an Instagram comment left under Jeremy's picture, she wrote: "Yeah loved him unconditionally, after a week of hell and late phone calls and pain he's caused I still kept my phone so I could help him.
"Find out I'm pregnant and he says he doesn't love me anymore and blocked."
In the past Jeremy has denied being the father of the baby but has now admitted to The Sun Online that he thinks Caben is his son: "I do believe I am the father. I want the baby to be mine, I can see a resemblance."
He continued: "I never said the baby wasn't mine, all I said was that there was a doubt because she was with other men in the first two weeks of April."
Back in June last year Jeremy denied being the dad's father, he told Ireland's TV Now Magazine: "I'm not going to be a dad. If she is pregnant, it's not mine.
"If I was a dad, I'd be 100 percent no, 110 percent, the best dad in the world."
Now the Irish model has revealed not only does he want to work with Steph to do the best for their son but he admitted he stayed silent and away from Steph during her pregnancy because he didn't want to cause her or the baby any stress.
Jeremy also revealed to the newspaper that he thinks Steph has used the baby to defame his name: "She's getting a TV show out of it, she's taking the baby on a free holiday, she's got her OK! deals, her magazines spreads… I just think it's horrible parading him around.
"She's parading him around like he was the FA Cup. Stephanie is living off me and the baby, simple."
He also confessed he's happy to see Steph doing well but: "I can't help but feel she's used the baby to defame my name."
And although they won't reunite in the future, the 26-year-old model explained why he's finally spoken out: "I want to set the record straight and move on with my life, hopefully with my gorgeous boy."
A representative for Stephanie Davis hit back at Jeremy's interview and said: "Jeremy has spent nine months claiming he isn't the father of baby Caben. To suddenly announce there is a similarity shows he is clearly deluded and feeling the pressure.
"Jeremy has caused Stephanie massive amount of stress, pressure and upset throughout her pregnancy, ruining what for most women is one of the most special times of their lives.
"Quite frankly he should be ashamed of himself."
Stephanie Davis wants Jeremy McConnell to sign an "unreasonable" contract
Appearing on This Morning today [February 8] it was revealed that Stephanie Davis wants Jeremy to sign a contract however for legal reasons the it could not be discussed. Although Jez did say: "No man in their right mind would sign that. It's disgusting. She's puppeteering the public."
Phillip Schofield agreed with the CBB star and said: "If it were me, I wouldn’t sign it, it's unreasonable.
"Because the terms of that contract in my eyes and in terms of our legal team here and the people that we've discussed it with, it has an impact on your entire life."
Jeremy also admitted the couple did love each other however there was a lot of pressure when they got out of CBB. He admitted that he doesn't owe Steph anything: "My responsibility as a father starts when the baby is born. Me and Steph didn't have that relationship, I didn't owe anything to Steph, what I owe is to this baby."
A statement from Steph's team read that Jeremy was never banned from being at Caben's birth however Jez argued Steph said in an interview he was banned. Jeremy also proved that he is willing to step up to the mark by taking a DNA test on This Morning.
