Jeremy McConnell has finally revealed why he takes to social media to slam Stephanie Davis

Jeremy McConnell has opened up in an emotional interview about his relationship with Stephanie Davis and confirmed he relapsed after leaving rehab.

Earlier this month it appeared that their relationship was finally going well but following rumours that Steph and Jeremy has a "blazing row" which led to him relapsing and fleeing back to Ireland, the dad-of-one went on to slam the mother of his child as "manipulative as f--k".

Steph responded to Jeremy's claims by liking a cryptic tweet and a source told The Mirror: "Clearly Jeremy was not in a very good place at the time, but this was an all-time low blow to Stephanie."

Since then Steph has confessed she's "no fool" and is "angry" following the drama but still wished the father of her child a happy Father's Day.

Now, Jez has opened up to The Sun about battling his drink and drug problem and admitted he's surprised he's still alive: "I’m surprised I’m not dead with the way I’ve partied."

He went on to reveal that throughout Steph's pregnancy, where he denied being Caben's father, he admitted he spent weeks of it partying: "I was getting thousands of pounds to go partying, I was on a footballer's wage.

"I remember blowing my nose in a €100 note and just throwing it on the ground."

He added: "My ego was out of control – I didn’t save a penny of that money. My mind and my life was polluted. I lost track of myself."

The publication reports that during the interview Jeremy was "fighting back tears" as he spoke about how "delighted" he was after finding out Caben is his biological son. However, following the death of his father and his aunt earlier this year and then having "trouble" with the mother of his child it seems that he wasn't dealing well with all the loss.

The 27-year-old has previously spoken out about his heart-breaking past where he lost his mother, sister and brother all within 15 months. Jez has confessed he's still grieving for his family and although to the public he seems to have a "happy front" he admitted he's a "hurt boy who hasn't processed any of the deaths."

Jeremy who has admitted he "loves" Steph has now revealed the real reason he lashes out at her on social media, it's because he's scared of people leaving him. He added: "If I felt like Steph was going to leave me I would do something out of anger, like in the past."

However, he has decided to turn over a leaf and following his relapse he's going to stop drinking for good because he wants to be a "family man" so that he can provide for Steph and Caben.

He explained: "I will never forget the first time I saw my son and Stephanie after our time apart.

"The love I felt for them was overwhelming, that's your future, that's your life.

"We will always have that massive love, she's the mother of my child."
