… and it is, of course, hilarious.

Comedian Jason Manford has forged a career out of making us laugh, but we doubt we've ever chuckled as much as we have reading this hilarious Facebook status about parenthood.

The father-of-five wrote: “Sat at the play centre when my daughter comes out with this.”

Jason then proceeded to recall their entire conversation - all of which stemmed from his little girl asking him a question about STDs.

Check it out…

Jason Manford explains STDs to his 6-year-old

Daughter: “Daddy, what does 'STD' mean?"

Jason: “Erm, well, erm, it's like a disease?"

Daughter: “What do you mean?"

Jason: "I'll tell you when you're older.”

Daughter: “Just tell me, I can understand things!”

Jason, panicky: “Yes, I know. Well, sometimes, erm, two people… well, when two people make a baby… well no, not necessarily a man and a woman, but erm, two people, erm, or more, well forget that bit.

“Erm, if two people share a bed, and they, I guess, when they touch each other in certain places, erm, well they can get… sometimes, well it's rare, but still you've gotta stay safe.

“Sometimes those people can pass diseases on to each other, and they can be quite horrible, warts and rashes and stinging, or swelling of your privates, and sometimes even death.

“So, you know, just don't ever do anything like that. Ever."

Daughter: ".........."

Jason, calming down: “Why do you ask anyway?"

Daughter: “It just says it up there - ‘coffee, large or std."

Oh dear.

Jason added: “Moral of the story, always ask where they've seen it first!"

The anecdote has been shared over 10,000 times on Facebook, with plenty of parents thanking Jason for sharing his hilarious encounter on social media.

One wrote: “I never usually comment on posts like this. However, I have laughed, and laughed, and laughed even more reading all your stories.

“I don't have children so will never have these awkward moments, but I have certainly enjoyed reading about all yours. Thank you for sharing them.”

N’aww!

It’s not the first time he’s made us chuckle with his daddy antics; remember the time his daughter was afraid of the monster under her bed?

Or his updates about her late night toilet habits?

But it’s not always fun and games; Jason also brought tears to our eyes when he publicly lamented being at work while his youngest was getting to grips with all her ‘firsts’ at home.

“How many firsts did my baby have while I was at work?” he said.

What a lovely and devoted dad, eh?
