James Argent has finally commented on his relationship with ex-girlfriend Lydia Bright.
After it seemed for a while as if the OG TOWIE couple had rekindled their past relationship, Arg has now spoken out and much to the disappointment of fans, this doesn't seem to be the case.
James and Lydia's relationship was one of the most iconic on TOWIE, especially at the beginning - remember when he got her a pet pig?
It was also one of the most turbulent, providing some of the best drama on the show but the couple broke up in 2016 following reports that Arg's partying got out of hand.

Following his split with Lydia, Arg was in an on/off relationship with Gemma Collins, however their relationship ended for good in lockdown after Gemma received horrific text messages from him.
In now deleted Instagram posts, Arg reportedly branded Gemma 'fat f--k'in text messages that appeared to show the TOWIE stars arguing over a flight.
Months after Arg and Gemma's split, rumours about him and Lydia getting back together emerged.

In 2016 after gaining weight, Arg attended two weight loss retreats; one in Norfolk and the other in Ibiza. After his fitness overhaul the TOWIE star dropped from 19st 1lb to 16st. He also went from 48 to 40 inches around his waist.

Arg told The Sunthat waking up at 6am helped him feel like a "new man". He explained: "I am not going to lie - it has been incredibly tough and, yes, I have had the odd lapse."But I am thrilled to have lost three-stone and I do genuinely feel like a new man."

At the end of 2016, Arg confessed on Instagram that he was "gutted at how unfit" he was. However he ended his post on a positive and insisted: "I'll get there and maintain it this time!"

In 2017 Arg flew out to a rehab facility in Thailand. He spent 10 weeks out there and manages to lose another stone. Arg's friend Jack Tweed revealed all the fitness activities he had been doing during his time abroad."He said he's been doing loads of stuff like Muay Thai boxing, jungle trekking, abseiling down waterfalls and zip lining."He's been eating really healthy food and he's lost over a stone. Arg is in a really good place at the moment and I hope he keeps it up, for his sake and his family's sake," he told new! magazine.

The on-off TOWIE couple (Arg and Gemma) split in July 2018 but then reunited the following month. After getting back together, Arg decided to take a break from the ITVBe show and seek treatment. A source told The Sun: "James was under a dark cloud recently and has made the brave decision to enter back into a programme to help him get back on track."He has been attending regular therapy and secondary care at an outpatient treatment facility in London."

Despite struggling with his weight, Arg posted a video of the GC snoring and apparently fat-shamed her. It resulted in him being dumped but the pair reunited and managed to move on from the incident.

Following his stint, Arg revealed he was heading back to the gym before teasing bigger things are on the horizon in 2020.He wrote on Instagram: "I'm going to have the biggest comeback of 2020!!! At the beginning of 2020 it was reported that Arg flew out to Thailand and entered rehab following allegations of a 'second overdose'.

While flogging curries on Instagram, Arg showed off his impressive five-stone weight loss.
However during an interview with The Mirror, Arg has now put those rumours to rest.
He explained, "I want to be able to see Lydia when I’m not having a good day as she’s somebody I turn to for help, but we can’t do that at the minute because we get pictured and everyone says, 'they’re back together'."
He went on to say, "She’s got great guys out there who might want to date her and won’t bother asking her because they think that she’s seeing me.'
'And I have girls who think, 'hang on, aren’t you with Lydia' so they don’t bother with me either."

In the same interview Arg also commented on a picture of him taken at the Darts World Championship. In the photo Arg is pictured holding up a sign which read: 'GC, call off the engagement!!!'
However Arg has now downplayed the seriousness of the message, saying, "As everyone knows, you go to the Darts and you write something silly on the boards.
"It was just lads’ banter. I know for a fact Gemma wasn’t offended - she saw the funny side. I also got to know Rami well in the early days of filming TOWIE so I’m really pleased for her."
The sign refers to Gemma Collin's and Rami Hawash's engagement that took place late last month.
TOWIE fans will know that Gemma actually dated Rami before she dated Arg back in 2011. They first got engaged in 2013 but the pair broke up in 2014. They have since rekindled their relationship.
