Sarah Jayne Dunn who plays Hollyoaks' Mandy Richardson is coming back to the show
Hollyoaks have hired a bunch of people and we're so excited to see them all in the village. We first found out that two new hotties are joining the Oaks from Ibiza and then it was announced that Luke Morgan, played by Gary Lucy, is returning to the show.
Now bosses have confirmed that Sarah Jayne Dunn is reprising her role as Mandy Richardson. The 35-year-old has signed a six-month contract and will return alongside her on-screen boyfriend Luke.
A source has teased: "Fans are going to see how the dynamic between them has changed after all these years apart, and bosses have planned some huge storylines with them at the heart of them," they told The Sun.
Both Gary and Sarah are said to have brought "a whole new energy to the show," with the insider adding: "Mandy and Gary are Hollyoaks icons, it’s a real boost to have the pair of them come home to the village."
Sarah has admitted she's "thrilled" about coming back to the soap and hinted about her characters return on Facebook live.
She explained "Mandy will come back with a big secret and come to reignite her relationship with the Cunningham's.
"They'll be shocked to learn some new things about her. There will be some interaction with Tony, but I am so thrilled with what is going on with the character."
We can't wait to see the duo back on our screens.
Mandy first joined the Channel 4 show back in 1996. Over the years, we saw her deal with her abusive father, cope after her brother Lewis committing suicide and go through the traumatic experience after her daughter died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
Although she left the show in 2006, over the years she has returned for Becca Hayton's funeral, Max and Steph's wedding and a war with Tony and Frankie where she revealed she wants custody of Tom.
