The real-life BFFs were discussing several weighty topics, ranging from financial advice in wake of the referendum results and the rollercoaster crash in Scotland over the weekend.
Insisting that Holly and Phil had barely even looked at one another, one fan anxiously tweeted: "Have Holly and Phil fallen out? They seem so fed up!"
Another, clearly forgetting that both presenters are happily married, tweeted: "They are barely talking to each other...
"Have they slept together and this is the awkward morning after???"
Hmm - we have a feeling that it was more likely a case of a) the Monday blues, or b) staying professional for a serious segment on the daytime talkshow.
After all, just a little while later, the pair were back to giggling over a few cheeky banana jokes.
Later that night, Phil even referred to the banana banter, tweeting Holly about the Iceland result.
He wrote: "I may have Iceland in the @itvthismorning sweep, but seriously?! Are you joking? OMG @hollywills the banana was right"
She replied: "I told you!!! The banana is never wrong!!!! #england #euro2016"

Tiff or not, there’s no denying that these two pals would never fall out for TOO long.
After all, the presenters have been friends for a long time now - and Phil previously said that he would quit This Morning if Holly ever handed in her notice.
"I’d go as far as to say that if Holly said ‘I don’t want to do it any more’, then I would follow. I don’t think I would do it with anybody else full-time," he told OK!.
