Holly Willoughby has divided fans with her 40th birthday celebrations after lamenting having to cancel plans.
The This Morning presenter took to Instagram after Sunday night’s Dancing on Ice to share the spectacular lengths ITV had gone to to make her lockdown birthday one to remember, with shoulder height letters spelling out her name in lights and a jazzy lametta backdrop.
“Thank you @dancingonice for making me feel so special,” she wrote alongside the snap. “It’s kicked off my birthday week in style.
“Honestly felt overwhelmingly spoilt today with all the decorations and cake! Thank you, love you to bits! 🎂 💗🦄🦩🌸✨🍭🥂”.

Holly’s fans and showbiz pals rushed to wish her a happy birthday for the 10th, with Love Island host Laura Whitmore saying “Ahhh have the best birthday week 🎉” and another saying, “Wow! So beautiful! Here’s the birthday girl! 😘 xxx”.
A third wrote, “It is what you deserve. Xxxx❤️”.
However, not everyone was impressed with the display, with one writing, “It’s a shame that the rest of us are in lockdown and we can’t have such indulgent extravagant birthdays. Show some humility and empathy Holly.”

Last week Holly told This Morning viewers that she’d had rearrange her plans for the big 4-0, saying, “Tomorrow night I would have been having a big birthday party that I had to cancel.
“It's obviously going to be looking a bit different, and it's fine. In the grand scheme of life as long as I've got cake and a drink I will be happy."
