Celebs Go Dating is in full swing – and last week, viewers watched former Corrie star Helen Flanagan, who is hoping to find love after her split from ex Scott Sinclair in 2022, rile up the experts after revealing she did in fact have a secret boyfriend.
Helen, 34, revealed on last week’s episode, ‘I did meet someone at home at the beginning of the year. I think I am in love with him’ – much to the disapproval of the dating agents and her co-stars.
But insiders now say that, despite the drama, Helen is happier than ever with her new man – who was recently revealed to be former pro footballer Robbie Talbot, 44.
An insider says, ‘Helen is smitten. She and Robbie were introduced through mutual friends and hit it off straight away. It’s a bit unfortunate that meeting him came at the same time as Celebs Go Dating, but that’s just how it worked out. She clicks with him, and it’s going great.’
Helen separated from ex fiancé Scott, 35 – with whom she shares children Matilda, eight, Delilah, five, and Charlie, three – after 13 years together and spoke of her heartbreak over the split earlier this year, saying on Loose Women, ‘He was my absolute world and I always thought we were going to be together.’
She then dated boxer David Haye, 43, who is known for being in open relationships, but they split earlier this year – with Helen tearfully explaining to the experts on Celebs Go Dating, ‘I didn’t mean to fall in love with him.’
Now, insiders reveal that Robbie – who is a decade older than Helen – has healed her broken heart.
They say, ‘Helen loves Robbie’s maturity. She’s having fun with him and is really enjoying this stage of her life now. When she split from Scott, a large part of her felt her world had ended, but she’s now seen how there’s lots to look forward to. Her kids will always come first, but Helen’s determined to embrace whatever joy might come her way – and Robbie makes her happy.’
