Gwyneth Paltrow came under fire for endorsing a drastic diet, consisting of just 300 calories a day

The actress - who has in the past been criticized for admitting she avoids feeding her children Moses and Apple carbs - took to her website 'goop' to share her January detox plan.

The meagre diet consists of hot lemon water for breakfast followed by a lean lunch of vegan broth made with chickpeas, water, an onion, juice from three lemons and some salt and pepper.

Afternoon snacks on the menu include "a handful of mixed seeds" or "walnut lentil paté" and a mug of hot lemon.

Errr, delicious?

Paltrow wrote: "Our winter detox has looser guidelines and restrictions than ones we’ve done in the past but here is what we’re avoiding: dairy, gluten, shellfish, anything processed (including all soy products), nightshades (potatoes, tomatoes, peppers and eggplant), condiments, sugar, alcohol, caffeine and soda.”

However nutritionists have criticised the detox plan, branding it too extreme.
