Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow has marked her daughter’s 11th birthday with a touching online tribute.
The 42-year-old posted a picture of eldest daughter Apple from 2004, showing her as a bright, blue-eyed baby with a mop of golden, blonde hair.
Gwen wrote alongside the adorable photo: “11 years ago this brilliant, kind, hilarious beauty graced our lives.
“Happy birthday, Apple Martin. I love you with all my heart.”
Gwen and ex husband Chris Martin raised eyebrows when they named their firstborn baby Apple 11 years ago.
The Oscar-winner explained to Oprah how she and musician Chris came up with the original moniker.
“It sounded so sweet and it conjured such a lovely picture for me - you know, apples are so sweet and they're wholesome and it's biblical - and I just thought it sounded so lovely and ... clean. And I just thought, "Perfect!”.”
Gwen and Chris are also parents to son Moses, who was born in 2006.
She revealed that following the birth of Moses she suffered from post-natal depression and continues to raise awareness for other sufferers of the condition.
