Cheeky Sandra Martin, AKA Queen of Channel 4's Gogglebox, caused a little bit of an uproar recently as she began charging people £1 for a selfie - or 50p for those on benefits - at Stevie Wonder’s British Summertime Festival.
She was seen taking money from fans who wanted a selfie with her.
An onlooker told The Sun: "it was a bit bizarre".
Instead of using selfies as an incentive to cash in on her fame, Sandra has revealed that she was doing it for a very good cause – raising money for a cancer charity very close to her heart.
Sharing a snap of her collection box, Sandra wrote on Instagram:
“To whom it may concern, this is where the money I collect from selfies goes to. I am the Ambassador for BondThruCancer [sic]."
She added on Twitter: “Ambassador Queenie Beenie Gogglebox also wants to let you know I chaperone a lot of cancer friends and family to hospitals.
“So I hope you all feel better now. That’s a wrap. Now let me get showered and clothes on and go meet my American date… Woop woop woop woop.”
Many of Sandra's fans applauded her for her charity efforts, defending her against the 'controversy'.
So next time you see Sandra about, don't be alarmed when she shakes her bucket at you - it's all for a good cause.
