This week Frankie Bridge revealed that she’s been diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) after getting some blood tests done to help her understand why she’d been suffering with symptoms including irregular periods and skin breakouts, as well as struggling to lose weight despite eating healthily.

Taking to her Instagram stories, the former Saturdays singer, explained that she was experiencing relatively mild symptoms compared to what other women may experience.

“I’ve just found out actually that I’ve got polycystic ovaries," the mum-of-two told her 1.2 million Instagram followers.

“I had loads of blood tests done a few weeks ago because I was getting irregular periods, I was getting really bad PMT, I was getting really cyst-y spots and really bad skin.

“And I was finding it hard to lose weight, even though I was eating healthily. Loads of reasons, really – and I found out last week that that’s why.”

“It goes on different scales, so I’m not on top of the scale, I’m quite near the bottom but it just kind of really explains everything,” she continued, before asking for tips from fellow sufferers on how to manage the condition.
