Ferne McCann welcomed her first child into the world this month

Former TOWIE star Ferne McCann has admitted she's going to raise her daughter Sunday alone after Arthur Collins - the father of her child - was found guilty after being involved in that horrific acid attack back in April.

In a statement released today, the 27-year-old mum said: "Ferne's thoughts are of course with the innocent people caught up in the events at Mangle last April.

"No one should ever be faced with violence on a night out. Having given birth days ago, Ferne is focusing on being the best mother she can be."

It went on to say: "She long ago accepted that she would be doing this alone and is determined to provide the best possible future for her daughter."

This isn't the first time Ferne has hinted she'll be raising her little one alone, shortly after her ex-boyfriend was charged in relation to the acid attack she released a statement confirming her pregnancy.

In the statement, the reality star admitted she'll be raising her child alone, it read: "Ferne is in no way seeking sympathy for her situation and is determined to do all she can to have a happy and healthy child and face the challenges of being a single parent with all her energy."

After announcing her pregnancy Ferne broke down in tears in her emotional interview on This Morning but remained very positive about her pregnancy, even after she was trolled online.

While it's been reported that the mum-of-one has visited her ex-boyfriend in prison, friends of the star have revealed that Ferne is desperate for Sunday to meet her dad.

In this week's Closer Magazine, they said: "There's a big part of her that's desperate for Sunday to meet Arthur as soon as possible – she accepts he will always be her dad.

"She's always feared not having a father figure for her child growing up."

The source went on to reveal that although Ferne has split from her ex she's "remained close to his family and they went to see her in hospital."

Earlier this month, Arthur was found guilty of five counts of GBH and nine counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He will face his sentence on December 19.
