She finally found her happily ever after, becoming engaged to her partner Lorri Haines in July, and now Ferne McCann is reportedly expecting her first baby with him.
While the former TOWIE star is yet to confirm the exciting news herself, a pal revealed last week that Ferne is “over the moon”. Some of her 2.9m followers began suspecting Ferne, 32 – who is already mum to five-year-old daughter Sunday with her shamed ex-partner, Arthur Collins – was pregnant again when she shared a carousel of photos to celebrate her first anniversary with her businessman fiancé, 31 – and only posted pics of herself from the waist upwards and not drinking alcohol.
It comes after a scandalous few months for Ferne, following her toxic fallout with former best friends Sam and Billie Faiers in a row over leaked voice notes. But insiders say Ferne’s hoping this news will bring them back together.
“While Ferne is blissfully happy, it’s tainted by the sadness of losing her childhood best mates, who’ve been two of the closest people in her life until recently,” the source tells Closer.
“Sam and Billie were some of the first people she told when she found out she was expecting Sunday and were her rocks during her pregnancy and afterwards, as she struggled with being a single mum. She really couldn’t imagine doing pregnancy on her own without them, but Lorri and her mum have urged her not to get her hopes up.”
Leaked voice notes allegedly recorded by Ferne were released last September by an anonymous account. In one clip, someone can be heard calling Sam a “fat c***” and a “narcissistic b****”, causing the Faiers sisters to end their friendship with Ferne.
Another allegedly recorded by Ferne called acid-attack victim Sophie Hall – who was left permanently scarred after Ferne’s ex Collins threw the corrosive substance into a crowded nightclub in 2017 – a “silly b***h”, among other
cruel jibes.
Addressing the recordings, Ferne wrote in a statement, “I am unable to say much because there are important and significant legal proceedings that prevent me from setting the record straight at this stage. What I can say is that the voice messages that are being released are manipulated; edited and taken entirely out of context.”
The source goes on, “It might be wishful thinking, but she’s hopeful that the girls will come around and realise that, at the heart of their friendship was love, and that all she wants is to be part of their lives again.”
Ferne’s first pregnancy was tainted by the actions of former scaffolder Collins, who is now serving 20 years in prison.
The source adds, “Ferne is understandably still hurt from what happened with Arthur and being left to be a single mum in such shocking circumstances. She doesn’t want to be left alone and vulnerable again, so her past fears and insecurities are coming to the surface. She’s insisting she’ll do everything to make it work and go the distance with Lorri.”
