Theyparted ways in 2020 after 20 years of marriage. But last week there was fresh drama for Fern Britton and Phil Vickery after he was seen kissing his ex-wife’s friend, 58-year-old Lorraine Stanton, and later confirmed they were in a relationship.
Hospitality worker Lorraine had been good friends with TV star Fern, 65, for many years and their new romance is said to have hurt Fern, with a source revealing it was “hard for her to see”.
Fern – who shares daughter Winnie, 20, with Phil, 61 – shared back in March that she was in no rush to start dating again, saying, “I haven’t been seeing anyone and nobody has approached me – which is nice, too!”
Roll back the clock to September 2020, and Fern had then raised eyebrows after sharing a cryptic post about being “used” and “betrayed”.
The former This Morning host – who was married to the TV chef for 20 years until they confirmed they had parted ways in January – retweeted a lengthy post which she claimed “fits so perfectly.”
Part of it read, “In life, you will fall out with people that you never thought you would. Get betrayed by people that you trusted with all your heart. And get used by people you would do anything for... We all have chapters that end with people at some point in life.”
The post caused fans to speculate the message was about Phil, with one writing, “Oh no, this sounds like a dig at her ex-husband,” while another said, “I know exactly what you mean Fern. Sadly there are many of us who can empathise.”
Fern and Phil are parents to daughter Winnie, while FERN also has twins Harry and Jack, plus Grace with former husband Clive Jones.
In June 2020, Fern spoke about her marriage to Phil – who was a chef alongside her on This Morning – saying, “Unfortunately, we fell apart.”
