Having children is such a blessing, and as a mother not a day goes by when you aren’t thinking of your little ones.
Whether it’s making plans to do something exciting on the weekend, trying to rustle up something delicious and healthy for dinner, or just watching Peppa Pig with them – being a parent means that your babies are the centre of your universe!
And although there can be some tough times – as this hilarious daddy blogger points out – they are always overridden by the good.
So why do we feel so guilty about wanting to take five minutes to ourselves?
You may remember the video clip that went viral recently of a mother hiding from her kids in the cupboard, eating sweets.
It got millions of views and shares because it is something we can all relate to.
Which is why Emma Willis has spoken out about the importance of spending quality time with… yourself.
The mother of three spoke candidly about how she believes that making time for yourself – even if it’s only a few minutes a day – can make a huge difference.
Speaking to Hello! Online, the Big Brother host said: “It's nice to have a day off from your children every now and then!
“To have that one day out a week is good.
“Sometimes if you can have at least a five minute soak in the bath - that makes all the difference.”
Emma, who is married to Matt Willis of Busted, shares Isabelle, 7, Ace, 5 and Trixie-Grace, eight months with her singer husband.
She also discussed how important it is to spend time alone with Matt.
She told the site: "It is important to make sure you make time for each other as otherwise you get buried in other stuff like, cooking, cleaning, washing and the kids and you stop and say, 'Have we actually had a full conversation with each other today or was it just, can you get the stuff out of the tumble dryer?'"
