The 42-year-old, who plays EastEnders' resident bad boy Max Branning, took to Twitter this morning to comment on Chezzer's 'mimed' rendition of her latest single.
Strictly star Jake wrote: "Cheryl Nandos-Panini miming on TVs biggest LIVE singing show is like turning up 4 the 100m Olympic final wearing lederhosen & hobnail boots [sic]."
While his comical response is pretty spot on, we can't help but think it also would have won him some major brownie points with his Strictly bosses over on BBC One.
Last night Twitter exploded with rage over Cheryl's 'pre-recorded' performance of I Don't Care, with users labelling her a hypocrite for professionally judging others on their singing ability.
One raged: "Wtf Cheryl is wearing! She can't sing live she should be removed from the X factor! Would love it if they turned the music off shed be f*cked [sic]."
Another added: "In my opinion Cheryl F V can't sing a note and, last night looked a mess. Therefore, she's perfect for the X Factor [sic]."
Katie Hopkins, of course, waded in on the debate, writing: "Cheryl Fernando Torres would like us know she just doesn't care. Hence she has come dressed as a Halloween Sexy Mummy #xfactor"
However other pointed out that, whether you loved or hated her performance, Cheryl's the one laughing (all the way to the bank?), as I Don't Care rocketed to the top of the iTunes chart following the performance.
What did you think of Cheryl's performance?
