Eamonn Holmes revealed today on This Morning (17 August) that he doesn’t like travelling next to children during a segment about how to deal with travel tantrums on the show.
During a debate about the story of a woman who yelled at a disabled child during a flight for making noise, Eamonn admitted that travelling amongst children makes him “miserable”.
The 56-year-old said: “What makes life miserable is that I’ve paid for my holiday – I’ve got one week off all year.
“I just want to get on that plane and watching my movie, or sleep or whatever it happens to be. I just want the choice.”
Guests on the daytime show then questioned the presenters reasoning, to which he replied: “I paid for the ticket, why not?
“I don’t want your children next to me.”
Speaking about flying in business class, Eamonn revealed he finds the experience “even worse” because of the “annoying rich kids”.
“Everyone will have an opinion that is fine until they are affected by it,” he added.
Eamonn and wife Ruth Langsford also took to This Morning’s Twitter account to praise cabin crew for handling with travel tantrums.
They tweeted: “'We salute cabin crew everywhere!' Big shout out to everybody who handles all those travel tantrums.”
Viewers took to Twitter to share their own opinions on Eamonn’s surprise admission, and were not happy:
However, some agreed with his reasons:
Do you agree with Eamonn there should be child-free flights?
