Speaking to the Daily Mail, she confessed: "I had problems with alcohol and it was when I took alcohol out of my life six years ago that I started to replace alcohol with food.
"I wasn't aware I was doing it at the time, it was a slow burn.
"What was happening was I was replacing alcohol addiction with food addiction and realised that because I was eating in a destructive way, it wasn't healthy."
But it was her engagement to her 45-year-old publicist Lincoln Towney that spurred her onto do something about her problems, and she joined Lighterlife, a weight loss company who she is now an ambassador for.
Denise revealed that it was the therapy that helped her though her food addictions, and she was able to lose a whopping two stone whilst on the diet in 2015, but still maintains it today.
Congrats, Denise!
