Celebrating 25 years of marriage last week, Victoria Beckham reminisced about a romantic trip the couple took to Portofino back in 1997 – which has left David blushing.
Taking to Instagram, Victoria, 50, shared some sweet throwback snaps of their holiday to Italy, writing, “Portofino in 1997 was a very, very romantic trip. I remember how excited I was to be there with David for the first time. The intensity of the two of us being together that 48 hours really was amazing…”
And while Posh is seemingly using their major milestone to keep the spark alive, David, 49, is reportedly worried that his wife’s revelations could hinder his relationship with the Royal Family, and therefore his chances of a knighthood.
A source tells Closer, “David and Vic have had a lot of fun when it comes to social media, but at the end of the day it’s all part of branding for them. While they’ve been very playful with each other recently, David has suddenly felt that perhaps they’ve been going a bit too far with all the gushing posts about each other – which reached a fever pitch with Vic posting a steamy message about their younger days together.
“It’s got David worried that it could be making Brand Beckham feel a bit sleazy, which is not good when he still hasn’t given up on his dream of being knighted.”
For her part, Victoria – who’s said she’s the “best version” of herself at 50 – wants to embrace her sexuality, as embodied by her campaign for her new perfume, Portofino ’97. Billed as “the seductive scent of desire”, the shoot saw Vic looking especially sultry in a wet-look sheer dress.
The insider explains, “Vic doesn’t want to be held back by anything and thinks it’s inspiring to other couples in their fifties to still be sexy and want each other. But David thinks there’s a time and a place for it, and right now it should be in private.”
