Dancing on Ice 2019 – Who won Dancing on Ice 2019? Plus everything you need to know about this year's explosive series

Dancing on Ice made a killer return to our screens in early 2018 after ITV bosses inexplicably chose to stop the series in 2014. But iconic This Morning presenting duo, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield fell straight back into their hosting positions to bring us an incredible line-up of talented celebrities.

Fans of the celebrity ice skating competition were obviously delighted when the show came back again, for its 11th series - Dancing on Ice 2019. Once the show started, it had it all - from on-screen arguments, [ongoing feuds](https://closeronline.co.uk/entertainment/tv-movies/gemma-collins-brands-jason-gardiner-bully-dancing-on-ice/g-on-ice/), backstage drama, romance rumours AND some incredible skating!

Who won Dancing on Ice 2019?

The winner of Dancing on Ice 2019 was crowned on Sunday 10 March after a tense final with a whopping 2 MILLION votes cast.

It was a seriously close call, but Strictly Come Dancing professional James Jordan lifted the prestigious Dancing on Ice trophy with skating partner Alexandra Schauman, with former Olympic Champion Christopher Dean calling their Bolero "the best [he had] ever seen on the show".

Despite James' dancing experience, Wes Nelson was tipped to win as the shows favourite dancing with professional Vanessa Bauer – having been at the centre ofplenty of controversy and romance rumours following his split from Megan Barton Hanson earlier this year.

Who left in each week of Dancing On Ice 2019?

THE FINALS - Wes Nelson

With his split from Megan firmly behind him, Wes took to the ice with Vanessa to perform a raunchy lycra-clad number to Pump It, by the Black Eyed Peas. Their agility impressed the judges enough to see them through to the final skate off, but the couple narrowly missed out winning, coming as runners up to James and Alexandra.

THE FINALS - Saara Aalto

The Eurovision winner exited the show in third place and as the only female celebrity in the finals. She and professional skating partner Hamish Gaman danced a high energy circus-themed number for the first part of the finals earning themselves second place on the judges score board, but missed out on the chance to perform their own Bolero thanks to the public vote.
