Former escorts Helen Wood and Jenny Thompson wage war over differing accounts of their threesome with Wayne Rooney
It will be 10 years this summer since Coleen Rooney’s world imploded when former escorts Helen Wood and Jenny Thompson revealed her husband Wayne paid them £1,000 for sex at Manchester’s five-star Lowry Hotel, while she was pregnant with their first son Kai.
Last week, as details emerged of ex-call girl Helen’s new tell-all book about the footballer, it was claimed Wayne wept after romping with the hookers, because of guilt at betraying his wife. Sources revealed that Helen, 32, describes in her book, A Man’s World, how Wayne cried on her shoulder after showing her a scan of his baby and "realising the enormity of what he was doing".

To add to Coleen’s misery, the other prostitute involved in the threesome disputed Helen’s version of events, with Jenny Wood, 30, calling her a "lying b---h", and insisting Wayne was "buzzing" after the three of them got together.
Now, pals say Coleen, 33 – who also has Klay, five, Kit, two, and Cass, one, with the footballer – has been devastated by the revelations and is anxious more intimate details might emerge.
A source reveals, "Coleen is horrified that Wayne’s past keeps coming back to haunt them. She was desperate to release a statement aimed at the women, but was advised to say nothing in order to not fuel the fire. It has brought back painful memories and is particularly difficult for them as a couple as this was all history, and now they’re forced to relive it."
It’s not the first time that former escort Helen has used her connection to Wayne, 33. After Jenny initially exposed the fling, she sold her story to the newspapers, and was the winner of Big Brother in 2014, going on to write a weekly column in a national paper.
Helen has also discussed an incident with a British actor who paid her £195 for sex in March 2010, but his identity has been protected through a court injunction.
The source adds, "Coleen is furious that Helen is still clinging on to a career on the back of her connection to Wayne. It’s caused some tension between them as she can’t help feeling Wayne could have done more to silence her and blames him for not acting more quickly.
"Wayne’s adamant he doesn’t want to give the women more ammunition and make out it bothers them.
"But Coleen fears this latest scandal is just the tip of the iceberg. She can’t bear the thought of the women giving TV interviews. Friends say it’s distressing for her, especially when you think about the boys getting older and being able to find out about it."
The footballer had been given a second chance by Coleen in 2004 after betraying her with the prostitutes. Their marriage again came under strain when, in 2017, party girl Laura Simpson claimed he “kissed and hugged” her before he was arrested for drink-driving.
In January, he was held at a US airport for intoxication, and claimed he’d accidentally mixed sleeping pills with alcohol. And their marriage was reportedly “hanging by a thread” after the footballer was pictured just one month later on a 10-hour drinking session with Florida barmaid Vicki Rosiek.

Coleen is said to have laid down the law with Wayne – who is due to spend the next few months travelling the US with his Major League Soccer team, DC United – to ensure he is on his best behaviour.
But insiders say she feels haunted by the past, and what it might throw up next to cause her even more misery.
The pal adds, "She loves Wayne, and really wants their marriage to work, but it sometimes feels they can’t ever just have a moment of quiet to enjoy family life in peace."
