New footage has emerged of Love Island’s Chris Hughes’ discussing having “lots of babies” with Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson before their split earlier this year.
Chris filmed a documentary with his brother Ben last year, exploring male fertility, after Ben received a testicular cancer diagnosis (aptly called Me, My Brother and Our Balls).
In the recently aired scenes, Chris visits a doctor who tells him his sperm count has improved, after fearing he was infertile, before calling his then-girlfriend to share the good news.
“Oh Jessica, I have a lot of sperm and they're very, very active,” he says. “I'm really happy."
“Yay! So we can have lots of babies?" says Jesy, to which Chris replied, "I think we can probably have three or four.”

He said, "She rang me, bless her, about 10 minutes after the documentary aired and she was just so overwhelmed and she just broke down on the phone to me. She's a strong girl now, she's extremely strong."Visibly upset, Chris then added, "I don't know why, but I get so emotional when I'm speaking about it."

On 17th January 2020, Jesy and Chris celebrated their one-year anniversary! The pair shared a number of cute photos with each other, with Chris calling Jesy his 'Queen'.

In April 2020 the pair split. The following month, Jesy deleted all traces of Chris from her Instagram account.

“There are no hard feelings. Jesy said he was surprisingly fine about it and thinks she will stay friends with him."
It was perhaps a sign of things to come that in March Jesy made it clear her feelings about having babies with Chris had changed, when she told The Sun she “couldn’t think of anything worse”.
“I’m not really sure if I want kids,” she said. “It’s never really been on my agenda. Maybe when I’m older I might change my mind.”
