The 31-year-old insists that she's used to husband Jean-Bernard's French surname, and can't understand why everyone else isn't.
"It's come quite naturally, you know. People are so ignorant about it, they just start calling us Cheryl, but I'll take that, whatever," she told Marie Claire.
Cheryl's X Factor boss Simon Cowell, 55, previously hinted that she only married someone with a complicated surname to become a 'one name' singer.
But Cheryl laughed his comments off, saying: "Yeah on purpose, so I could be like Madonna? See how his brain works. I mean, who even thinks like that?"
Continuing her rant about Simon, the former Girls Aloud star insisted she no longer cares about his opinion.
She said: "In the early days I'd get phone calls if I wore a t shirt in one of the VTs, where he'd be like, 'What the bloody hell are you wearing?'
"He wears the same moth-eaten t shirt he's worn for six years and he's calling me up about what I'm wearing.
"The moment Simon Cowell appreciates what I wear that's when I'll worry."
And Cheryl commented on the ever-present rumours that she and JB are planning babies.
"I love babies, but not quite yet. I'm mean, never say never, you can never say never in life. Full stop. About anything."
