Geordie Shore icon Charlotte Crosby has revealed the gorgeous name she has chosen for her little baby girl, after welcoming her first child with boyfriend Jake Ankers into the world on 14 October.
The 32-year-old reality star posted a black and white snap of her beautiful baby girl's hands on her Instagram with the caption, "Alba Jean Ankers 14.10.22 ❤️.
"Our hearts are so full my baby girl you have shown us a whole new meaning to life. Your perfect in absolutely every way! Mammy and Daddy are so so so lucky to call you our little girl 💕 you are loved so much more then you will ever know 💕."
Fans swarmed the comments to congratulate and Charlotte and Jake and share their love for their beautiful little girl's unique name, Alba; a name of Latin origin that means 'dawn' or 'sunrise' in Italian, Spanish, Romanian and Catalan.
Her Geordie Shore co-stars were quick to show their congratulations, including Holly Hagan-Blyth who commented, "Gorgeous gorgeous name for a gorgeous gorgeous bby girl 😍💕", while Marnie Simpson wrote, "Beautiful little Alba jean 🤍."
Charlotte later took to her Instagram Story to thank her 8.2million followers for their kind words and well wishes, saying, "Guys, I want to scream, but I can't because of my stitches. Well, I don't have the stitches in anymore, but I feel like I'll burst myself open. But, I am so excited.
"Me and Jake are literally smiling ear to ear about everyone's comments about her name. Like, how beautiful is her name?! I've been wanting to shout that from the mountain tops. I've been wanting to shout it from the mountain tops! Little Alba Jean. It's all happening now. I'm feeling a lot better.
"She is slowly making her way out to the public. I can't wait for you all to see her."
Charlotte recently spoke out about her ex Gary Beadle and admitted she was disappointed when he failed to congratulate her on her pregnancy.
Charlotte's rollercoaster relationship with her fellow Geordie Shore OG famously played out on the MTV show for years before they parted ways for good when she tragically suffered an ectopic pregnancy in 2016.
Since then, they’ve both moved on with their lives and Charlotte has now had her first child, Alba Jean, with boyfriend Jake, while Gary is married to wife Emma McVey and a father to son Chester and daughter Primrose. However, when it was announced that the Geordie Shore cast would be reuniting for a special series, fans were anxious to see whether Charlotte and Gary would come face-to-face once again.
Speaking to Sophie Kasaei on the latest episode of her podcast Charlotte Crosby Always On, the reality star explained how she and Gary had “moved on” from the ectopic pregnancy and had been “civil”, so she was surprised when he didn’t reach out when she announced she was pregnant even though she had done so when he was expecting his first child.
Charlotte said, “When he announced he was pregnant with Emma, I went straight onto Twitter and congratulated him because I thought, you know what, bygones be bygones. We went through our sh-t and, for me, that was really hard at the time because I had long had the ectopic pregnancy. I was dealing with a load of sad things. But where was my congratulations?
“After he knew I lost organs, as a person in his head, as a good person and as a friend, he used to say, ‘I love Charlotte, even as a friend. I will always be there for her’. So where was the sense of being happy for us when I realised I could have a child after he f--ked it all up that time?”
“You know what, as well? Not even a private message. Fair enough, you don’t need to do it publicly,” added Sophie. “It's a hard one because no matter what's happened, we've still got love for Gary. Even you, Charlotte."
Charlotte continued, “I've always said this, I don't know why we can't be civil. We've been through a lot. I don't see why there can't be no conversation. That's why I can't wrap my head around he didn't congratulate us on my pregnancy.
“I did that for him after everything I’d been through. I thought, ‘I’m happy for him. He’s found his happiness, he’s on a new journey’. How can someone not return that?”
After posting a clip of her conversation with Sophie on Instagram, Charlotte later revealed that she’d been forced to turn off the comments. Taking to her Stories, she told her followers, “Guys! I’ve decided to disable the comments on my most recent post! I was probably a little bit naïve to how much of a debate my comment would spark! And all opinions are totally and utterly welcome, but I did not want to spark any trolling or negative comments!”
Charlotte and Gary first met back in 2011 when they joined the cast of MTV's Geordie Shore and they quickly started an on/off romance. Who could forget the infamous moment when Charlotte told Gary, "You just want to shag us and I want to break your heart"?
As we all know, the pair endured a rollercoaster relationship as Charlotte developed feelings for Gary while he was more interested in "bucking birds" than settling down into a relationship. The pair eventually decided to give things a proper go but Charlotte suffered an ectopic pregnancy in 2016 while Gary was away in Thailand filming Ex on the Beach, leading them to separate for good.
