Following their legal battle last month, drama is still rumbling on between Kyle Walker and Lauryn Goodman – with insiders now saying that while Kyle is considering launching a harassment case against Lauryn, his wife Annie Kilner is insisting on a fresh start in the form of a new house.
Annie, 32, and Kyle, 34, put on a united front over the summer following the footballer’s cheating scandal, bringing their four children – Roman, 11, Riaan, seven, Reign, five, and Rezon, five months – to watch their dad compete in the Euros. It was a show of strength from the couple, who found their relationship under the spotlight after it emerged Kyle had fathered a second child with influencer Lauryn Goodman, 33.
Despite the positive steps, a source now reveals to Closer that the couple still aren’t back on track. After reports surfaced that Manchester City footballer Kyle is living in an apartment block close to the family’s Cheshire mansion, the source says, "Annie is still refusing to let Kyle back into the family home, even though they had quite a good summer together with the kids.
"She had been thinking about it, but Lauryn’s behaviour in recent weeks has made her so angry with Kyle again for getting them into this situation. She’s relieved that he’s considering doing something about the constant attacks from Lauryn on socials, as it’s beginning to take its toll."
The showbiz world was rocked last year after it emerged that Kyle had fathered a second child with Lauryn – now dad to Kairo, four, and Kinara, one – all while married to Annie. Apologising to his wife, he said, "I made idiot choices and idiot decisions. I can’t begin to think or imagine what Annie is going through. The only person to blame is me."
In recent weeks, Kyle and Lauryn have been involved in a public spat over child support, with documents revealing the star’s list of demands including astroturf for her garden and a new car for her nanny. After losing the eye-watering child maintenance battle, the Celebs Go Dating star has taken to social media to share her own thoughts – insisting her children will "never have half of what their half-siblings have", despite living in a mansion paid for by Kyle.
Last week, Closer reported how Annie had given Kyle a list of strict rules in order to get their relationship back on track – and after shocking revelations from a neighbour, one of these now involves a new house. Last month, Kyle and Annie’s neighbour alleged that Lauryn had asked her to spy on them, saying, "She wanted to know if his car was parked up and if he was there, and what he was doing."
Now, the source says, "Annie doesn’t feel like her home is her home anymore after knowing that her neighbour was asked to spy on her, and that Lauryn had apparently looked at floor plans of their house. There are too many bad memories now, and she hates the fact that Lauryn knows where she lives. She’s told Kyle that she wants a new house if they’re going to make a go of things. She’d love one built from scratch to all of her specifications, especially as it was one of Lauryn’s demands that they couldn’t move!"
The insider adds, "If Kyle stays with Manchester City, they’ll will have to stay around that area – and she wouldn’t want the boys to have to change schools anyway. But Annie would love somewhere more secluded and with lots more land. It was their family home, but it now feels tarnished. This could be the fresh start they need."
And with reports that Annie and Kyle are considering seeking legal action against Lauryn, the source tells Closer, "Annie knows Lauryn would no doubt kick off if they move, and would demand more for her and the kids, but she’s beyond caring about that. She needs to feel safe and at ease in her home – and if Kyle wants her back, then he’ll have to make sure that happens."
Lauryn tells Closer: 'My kids are my priority'
While Annie is considering legal action and planning her next move, Lauryn appears to be without a care in the world as she makes a fresh start – posting on social media and enjoying time with her young family. The star is also taking part in Celebs Go Dating, with Closer chatting to Lauryn about her experience on the show at the launch last week.
Lauryn told us, "I really enjoyed being part of Celebs Go Dating. Everyone involved was so much fun, and it was good to meet such a fun gang of people. Dating was fun too – you’ll have to watch the show to see if anything happens."
