After news broke that Kyle Walker’s long-suffering wife, Annie Kilner, has finally filed for divorce against the Manchester City captain, insiders tell Closer that Annie’s terrified by the thought of Kyle reuniting with his ex-flame — and mother of two of his children – Lauryn Goodman, 33.
Our source says, ‘Annie’s petrified about Lauryn and Kyle being in touch again and says that the thought of them being together and playing happy families is her worst nightmare. Kyle swore there was no emotional connection and that it was purely physical. But if they end up getting together, she’ll know he was lying about that too, and her head will no doubt spin over what else he hid from her.’
The source continues, ‘Annie’s been engulfed by paranoia since she filed for divorce – asking mutual friends for their thoughts and spending hours poring over social media looking for any sign or hint of a potential meet-up.’
Although they only tied the knot in 2022, Kyle, 34, and Annie, 32, had been together since they were in their teens. But now that Annie has filed for divorce, they’ll undoubtedly be entering into a battle for his £27 million fortune. Kyle shares Roman, 12, Riaan, eight, Reign, six, and seven-month-old Rezon with his wife – and has two children that he fathered with Lauryn, Kairo, four and Kinara, 16 months. Kinara was conceived during an extramarital affair two years ago, a fact that was leaked to the press and confirmed by Lauryn. This hit Annie particularly hard as she learned of Lauryn’s pregnancy when she herself was expecting her fourth son, Rezon. This led to Kyle briefly moving out of their £3.5 million family home before moving back in earlier this year.
Last year, Lauryn took Kyle to court with a list of financial demands for their children, including a £31,200 astro turf pitch, £29,500 per month in child maintenance fees, £70,000 towards a new Mercedes GLE every three years, and £500 a month for hot-tub maintenance. However, the judge eventually ruled in Kyle’s favour, with Lauryn receiving far less than she had asked for, although she did get a £1.85 million property, among other things. Lauryn then appeared on Celebs Go Dating in search of love, telling the show’s experts, ‘I think people forget my only priority is my children. It's heavy, really heavy, on your energy levels. I feel drained. I feel like I'm constantly going to war for my kids and I'm so sick of the battle.’
Now, with Kyle about to be single for the first time in over a decade, Annie fears that there is more heartbreak for her right around the corner. The source says, ‘In Annie’s eyes, Kyle and Lauryn getting together after all of this would cause her even more humiliation as well as worsening her heartache. Pals have urged her to just detach herself from all of it as she’s turning herself into a nervous wreck – convinced that both Lauryn and Kyle will see this as their green light to truly twist the knife and give things a proper go now his marriage is done. She’s barely on speaking terms with Kyle.’
This didn’t stop Annie from showing her ex what he’s missing, and she recently shared a photo to her Instagram story of herself back in 2010 aged 18, when she was dating Kyle. This comes just days after Lauryn allegedly reported Annie to the police for some WhatsApp messages that included the phrase, ‘I want her dead,’ now claimed to have been between Annie and fellow WAG, Rebekah Vardy. However, the influencer was reportedly informed that it is a civil matter and not a criminal offence.
Now, Annie and Kyle must learn to co-parent their four sons, a situation that Annie is reportedly finding challenging. The source continues, ‘Annie wants a clean break and right now it’s too painful to see Kyle, so family members are helping to mediate and handle the switchover with the kids in a bid to help give Annie the space she needs while she navigates through all of this.’
