Being a new mum is hard work – there are so many things that people don’t tell you about. Of course, you hear all about how your body changes during pregnancy, but no one can really prepare you for the sleepless nights and the endless amounts of washing.
Many pregnant celebrities are about to burst any minute, with soon-to-be first time mummies Binky Felstead, Amal Clooney and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley edging ever closer to their summer due dates.
But one star who has already welcomed her gorgeous bundle of love into the world is Amy Childs. The former TOWIE star experienced a long and difficult labour, but she is smitten with her beautiful daughter Polly who was born in April.
Now the glam Essex girl has admitted that she has hired help in the form of a professional midwife in order to guide her through motherhood.
Amy, 26, admitted that she’s a “worrier” when it comes to her daughter, so investing in some help was the best option to set her mind to rest.
“I've hired a private midwife called Betty to come over for the next few weeks.
“I'm a new mum and I'm learning so much every day, but I'm also a bit of a worrier.
“She came over for two hours and I learned so much!”
More and more new mothers are seeking support from professional midwives to help them through the early stages of motherhood, and if it puts Amy’s mind at ease then it will certainly benefit both mother and baby.
