She looked happier than ever last week while enjoying a date night with boyfriend David Putman at a performance of MJ: The Musical.
And now, insiders say that Alison Hammond has been considering her future with 27-year-old masseur David – who she has been dating since early this year – and that their blossoming relationship has got her thinking about more kids.
A source tells Closer, “Alison always saw herself with at least four kids, but it didn’t happen and she openly regrets that. As a result, she has always said that she would adopt a small army of kids if she could. She has so much love to give – but it’s finding the time.”
Alison and 6ft 10 David are thought to have met when Alison hired him as a massage therapist late last year, and the couple seem to have gone from strength to strength.
While there have been eyebrows raised over the pair’s 22-year age gap – with reports claiming David’s mother Olga doesn’t approve – Alison and David seem to be smitten, with the pair attending red-carpet events and going on sweet staycations together.
Alison has been unlucky in love in the past. She’s had two failed engagements – first to taxi driver Noureddine Boufaied, with whom she welcomed son Aiden on her 30th birthday in 2005, and then to security guard Jamie Savage. She then dated Ben Kusi – who she met on Celebs Go Dating – and landscape gardener Ben Hawkins, before they split last year.
And over the years Alison has made no secret of her desire to have more children. In an interview in 2021, the This Morning star admitted, “As soon as I had Aiden I went straight on contraception, because the doctors encourage you to. I wish I hadn’t listened and just banged another baby out then. I’m so disappointed as I always saw myself with five or six kids, not one. I’ve got so much love to give – I need six to share it all around.”
The source adds, “Alison has always loved children. She knows it may not be possible now to have more biologically, but she believes that adoption is something that she could see in her future. It would be a project of love. It wouldn’t be something Alison approaches lightly at all – she knows it would be a real journey. But she is really passionate about the possibility of it and finally feels ready.”
While Alison always dreamed of having a large family, being a single mum to Aiden, 19, has ensured that the pair have a super-close bond – with Aiden required to sign-off on his mum’s boyfriends.
Luckily for Alison, David and Aiden – who is pursuing a career in DJing – get on well, with the presenter sharing, “When they actually met, [Aiden] really liked him, he really thought he was lovely, so that’s nice.”
But because Aiden and Alison have such a tight bond, the presenter is worried about suffering from empty nest syndrome when he eventually moves out of their shared home, and is therefore considering adoption as a way to fill her home with love.
The insider concludes, “Alison is aware Aiden will be getting ready to fly the nest soonish, although she hopes he will stay until he’s 40. The thought of empty nest syndrome looms, so it could be that adoption is an option for Alison.”
