Sixteen years on from her rise to fame as a fashion model, Abbey Clancy proved she’s still got it when she shared a series of stunning pictures last week.

The mum-of-four, 36 – who made her TV debut as a contestant on Britain’s Next Top Model in 2006 – looked incredible in a black swimsuit for F&F at Tesco’s new sustainable range – and even posed with her daughter Liberty, six. Fans commented, “OMG she looks incredible – even after four kids!” and, “Beautiful – Liberty’s a mini you!’

Abbey has modelled for top brands over the years, as well as appearing on a number of TV shows, winning Strictly Come Dancing in 2013 and hosting Britain’s Next Top Model for three seasons.

But she took a step back from the spotlight in recent years to focus on her children with former footballer husband Peter Crouch – which also include Sophia, 11, Johnny, four, and Jack, two.

Now, insiders say the Liverpudlian beauty is keen to restart her career in fashion and TV.

A source close to Abbey reveals, “She’s in a great place right now and is really keen to pick up her career – it’s her time to shine! She’s working on a major comeback as she still absolutely adores fashion and modelling and wants to broaden her horizons by doing more of her own designs and putting her name to fashion labels. Abbey’s very eco-aware and would love to create sustainable brands. She’d also like to design ranges that appeal to working mums like her.”

Abbey met husband Peter, 41, at a party, and later got engaged in July 2009. They married in a lavish ceremony in 2011, and their fun-loving personalities have won them an army of fans. Peter once admitted on Jonathan Ross’ chat show that, “My wife doesn’t like football, one day she called me 10 minutes before a game to find out where I was.”

Meanwhile, Abbey regularly amuses her followers with her witty call-outs to Peter on Twitter, replying to some of his Tweets, “Why are you never that funny at home?”

Since retiring from football, Peter’s had showbiz success with That Peter Crouch Podcast as well as hosting TV shows and doing punditry on Sky Sports.

And sources say Abbey is keen to join her husband in front of the cameras or on a new podcast.

The source says, “Abbey’s so proud of what Peter has achieved. They both lead incredibly busy lives which means they are often apart, but they are happiest when they are together.

“That’s why Abbey is really keen on the idea of working with Peter. He’s in big demand on TV and radio and they know the idea of him teaming up with Abbey would really appeal to producers. They’re the dream package who bounce off one another and they’d be a perfect fit for TV and podcasts.”

The source adds that Abbey has been supporting fellow WAG and friend Coleen Rooney as the Wagatha Christie trial awaits a verdict. The trial has seen Coleen go head to head with fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy.

Coleen, 36, previously accused Becky’s account of leaking her personal details to the tabloids, and “outed” her on social media. It led to Rebekah, 40, suing Coleen for libel. While the case awaits the judge’s verdict, it has reignited the public’s interest in WAGs.

The source adds, “Abbey sees Coleen socially now and again and has been privately supporting her during the trial by sending her messages and best wishes.

“The trial has put WAGs back in the spotlight and Abbey will always be regarded as one of the original set, so this could also mean a few more opportunities coming her way. She’s really keen to get back out there and flex her creative muscles – it’s an exciting time for her.”
